Interview with Dr.Thomas E. Trask - U.S.A.

On August 7, 2000, Dr. Thomas E. Trask was elected the new chairman of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship. Dr. Trask is the General Superintendent of the General Council of the Assemblies of God in America. This election took place during the WAGF 6th General Assembly held in Indianapolis, Indiana in the United States of America. Dr. Trask said, "I will do my best to build unity and fellowship among the churches worldwide." He expressed to the reporter that Dr. Cho has greatly influenced not only America but also governments and people from all over the world. He emphasized his desire to continue strengthening the foundation of the World Fellowship. Dr. Trask also explained that the meetings of the World Fellowship were held to continue efforts toward world missions. Dr. Trask was born in the state of Minnesota in 1936 and accepted Christ as his Savior at a Bible camp when he was 13 years old. He graduated from North Central Bible College and has spent 42 years in ministry. He is currently the chairman of the Pentecostal World Conference, a member of the board of administration of the National Association of Evangelicals, and a member of the board of directors of the National Religious Broadcasters. He also serves on the boards of The Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Central Bible College and Evangel University. He and his wife Shirley have three sons and a daughter.

Interview with Dr. Prince Guneratnam - Malaysia

Dr. Prince Guneratnam was elected vice-chairman of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship in Indianapolis on August 7, 2000. He has been the General Superintendent of the General Council of the Assemblies of God of Malaysia since 1978 and started his own ministry in 1972. He will assist Chairman Trask on behalf of the World Fellowship. Dr. Guneratnam commented about the outgoing chairman, °ĚDr. David Yonggi Cho is a worldwide spiritual leader and a model that has provided leadership for the World Assemblies of God Fellowship."
Dr. Guneratman reported that Malaysia has 325 Assemblies of God churches and 40,000 members. His goal is to plant 100 churches through Malaysian evangelistic efforts. He pointed out three things about evangelism and missionary work as he talked about spreading the gospel as quickly as possible. He said, "The first thing is to evangelize our neighbors. Secondly, evangelistic efforts and missionary work should include sacrificial contributions. Thirdly, evangelism and missionary work should begin in our hearts through the love of God." Dr. Guneratnam is married to Petrina. He has received a Doctor of Law honorary degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in missionary work.
