Nigerian president visits South Korea

Morning Prayer meeting with President Olusegun Obasanjo and Dr. David Yonggi Cho

Dr. David Yonggi Cho had a morning prayer meeting with President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria at the Seoul Hayatt Hotel on July 22, 2000.

They talked about beliefs and worldviews according to Christianity. President Obasanjo was in Korea for a summit meeting with President Dae Jung Kim on July 21 and invited Dr. Cho to the Hyatt Hotel to receive prayer. Dr. Cho and President Obasanjo prayed about present issues in Nigeria.

Dr. Cho said that our everlasting God is knocking on the door of Nigeria and the president's heart. Dr. Cho prayed that President Obasanjo, a man of good faith, would make Nigeria prosper through his faith and view of Christianity. He noted that he wants Nigeria to be a country with strong leadership in Africa and emphasized that national problems could be solved by relying on God.

Dr. Cho emphasized that only Jesus Christ can heal agony, worry and diseases of the heart. He stressed that there will be blessing like Abraham's when we enter the world of God through Jesus Christ. The president thanked Dr. Cho for praying for him and Nigeria and confessed that problems were solved every time he prayed.

President Olusegun Obasanjo and his party of 60 people from heads of departments to economists who visited Korea agreed with President Dae Jung Kim during a summit meeting to cooperate in international markets and in the exchange of manpower and trade between the two countries.
