The Life That Receives and Preserves Salvation and Grows
Ephesians 3:16 ~ 3:19

2017-07-23

We live a life that receives and maintains salvation through God's grace, love, and faith and that grows. Salvation that we received is not shaken no matter what kind of situations it faces because it is based on God's grace and love. We must clearly know about this fact and stand firmly on faith.

1. God's grace
1) Grace is to receive help without price. It is truly great grace if a life could not have been maintained without that help. Grace is to receive salvation by believing in Jesus. This grace cannot be expressed in words. (Eph. 2:8)
2) The wage of sin is death. We have received the death penalty as sinners. (Rom. 5:12)
3) Jesus has nothing to do with death as He was born without sin. He gave us the grace of redemption by carrying our sins for us. (Rom. 5:18)

2. God's love
1) When it comes to love, there are conditional love and unconditional love. (John 21:15~17)
2) God loved us to the point where He gave His Son on the cross. (John 3:16~17)
3) God's love shown through Jesus is one-sided love. God did not love us because we are worthy to love. He gave us unconditional love. (Rom. 8:38~39)

3. Our faith
1) The spiritual world is only connected with faith. God has opened the path of salvation to everyone. Whether people believe in Jesus or not depends on their choices. (Rom. 3:22)
2) Apostle Paul was greatly changed after meeting resurrected Jesus on the way to Damascus.

4. The backsliding of faith and its prevention
1) Because salvation that we received is based on God's unchanging grace and love, we do not face danger of salvation being disappeared even when our faith backslides. (Heb. 10:38~39)
2) The Holy Spirit becomes another Counselor for us who are being held with God's grace and love. The Holy Spirit makes believers strong with great power and brings changes and growth. (Rom. 8:26)

Conclusion
Our life is limited, but Jesus is eternal. Eternal Jesus had paid for all of sins of ours who are limited beings. Our sins have been forgiven within God's endless grace and love. Within that grace and love, our faith grows and develops every day.
