The Importance of Thinking
Isaiah 43:19

2017-10-01

Thinking is important as we live our lives. Thinking not only affects our bodies and hearts, but also greatly affects our entire life. Blaise Pascal said, "Your thoughts of yesterday make your today, and your thoughts of today make your tomorrow." We will look different tomorrow depending on what kind of thoughts we have today.

1. You can see the path when you change your thought
1) Many people live their lives filled with anxiety and fear in their hearts by being pessimistic about today, dwelling on the past or being afraid of the future. (Luke 12:25~26)
2) Even if we are in difficult situations, we can see the path if we change our thoughts. If we boldly move forward by believing in God who is with us even when we are in a place like the desert, God will make a path in the desert where there is no path and make a river in the desert where there is no water. (Isa. 43:19)

2. Look up and watch the cross
1) In order to change our thoughts, we must look to the cross of Jesus. If we look to the cross no matter what kind of situations we face, we will not give up on hope and dream about the future. (Heb. 12:2)
2) The cross is like a pipe that is connected to Jesus' life. If we look to the cross, we can gain life from Jesus and move with faith. (John 5:24)

3. Move steps of faith
1) Thoughts need to change in order for people to move. Therefore, when people get rid of a thought of "I can't do it" and have a thought of "I can do it," they get to take steps of faith. (Phil. 4:13)
2) Our lives change depending on what kind of thoughts we have. If we move forward with faith without being discouraged or falling in despair when faced with problems, God helps us. (Mark 9:23)

4. Don't draw back
1) When we face problems, we need to clearly know who we can ask for help. When we face trials, we need to go before God and ask for His help. (Ps. 146:3~5)
2) A prayer is spiritual warfare. When praying, we should not give up or draw back. (Heb. 10:38)

Conclusion
We must look to the Lord and move forward with faith no matter what kind of situations we face. If we go before God and ask for things with prayers during every moment in life, God will become our strength and open paths for us.
